Claire Adamson
Registered Mental Health Nurse
Claire is Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN). She has over 16 years’ experience working in mental health service. Since qualifying in 2013 she has specialised her nursing in Children and Adolescent services working alongside young people and their families.
Claire has worked in a variety of settings including inpatients specialising in a children’s unit, before moving into the community to work with moderate to server mental health. With this she delivers her practice by providing a therapeutic intervention for Children and Adolescence whilst remaining in their homes with their families. During Claire’s career she has worked across many services including, crisis teams to long term therapeutic teams.
As a nurse Claire provides a holistic approach to monitor young people’s mental health as the core. With this she has also undertaking courses in CBT as well as being trained in DBT. Claire has worked in a DBT service in which allowed her to continue nursing as well as delivering individual DBT as well as groups to young people and their families.
Claire is able to offer mental health assessments with a care plan of short or long term interventions, meeting the individual’s needs using a variety of skills and knowledge. This may be either child lead or parent lead. Claire provides her care as being person centred and takes all factors into consideration to get the best outcome for the individual. This includes emotional, physical, social, educational, equality and diversity factors.
Claire is experienced in working with all needs, low mood, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, EUPD and neurodiversity.
Qualifications:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse- University of Bedfordshire.
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Practitioner- British Isle Trained
